Slik søker du om politiattest elektronisk

1.Før du søker
Sjekk at du har skjemaet Bekreftelse på formål ferdig utfylt fra arbeidsgiver eller studiested. Skjemaet må legges ved søknaden. Ikke alle formål trenger bekreftelse.

Student?
Bekreftelse fra studiested eller samordna opptak må inneholde ditt navn.

Elev i videregående skole?

  • Fyll ut Søknadsskjema elever videregående skole. Både du, foreldre og skolen må skrive under.
  • Har du flere praksissteder i løpet av skoleåret, vent med søknad om politiattest til praksisstedet er avklart. Politiattesten er kun gyldig i 3 måneder.

Har du søkt om opptak til Politihøgskolen?
Når du har fått innkalling til opptaksprøven, kan du søke om politiattest.

3. Behandlingstid
For tiden er det 2 ukers behandlingstid. Velger du å motta politiattesten i posten, kommer tiden det tar med postgang i tillegg.

4.Slik mottar du politiattesten i din digitale postkasse
Vi blir automatisk informert om din sikre digitale postkasse hvis du har fra før eller oppretter en. Du får svar på søknaden om politiattest dit. Sjekk både digipost og eboks. 

Hvis du ikke har opprettet sikker digital postkasse, kan du gjøre det på norge.no – Velg digital postkasse. For å motta post i digital postkasse, må du også oppdatere kontaktinformasjonen din i det felles nasjonale kontaktregisteret.

Reservasjon mot digital post
Hvis du har reservert deg mot digital post, sender vi svar til deg i vanlig post. Da tar det noen ekstra dager i postgang. Du kan fjerne reservasjonen din hvis du ønsker attesten elektronisk.

5.Klage
Klagefristen er tre uker fra du mottar politiattesten.

Du kan sende skriftlig klage hvis du er uenig i hva som er tatt med i attesten, eller hvis du får avslag på søknaden. Skriftlig klage sendes til:

Hvis klagen blir tatt til følge, blir det utstedt ny politiattest. Blir klagen ikke tatt til følge, vil den bli videresendt til Politidirektoratet for endelig behandling.

Apply online and receive the criminal record certificate in your digital mailbox

How to apply online:

Log in
Log in using your MinID, BankID, Buypass or Commfides details.
This will confirm your identity, and you will not have to submit proof of identification.

  1. Select reason
    Select the reason for requesting a criminal record certificate from the drop-down list on the form.
    Ask your employer or the person requesting the criminal record certificate if you have any questions about why they have requested it.
  2. Confirm reason (the only attachment required with online applications)
    - You can either scan or take a photo of the confirmation if you do not have an electronic version of it. 
    - Check that the file is legible before attaching it to your application.
    - The following file formats are acceptable: docx, doc, pdf, jpg, jpeg, png, tiff, tif.
    - The file size must not exceed 4 Mb (4,194,304 bytes).
    - Not all reasons require confirmation.

Processing time for applications for criminal record certificate currently takes 2 weeks.

For employers/organisations:
Employers and organisations may download the form “Confirmation of reason” on the right-hand side of this page.

The Civil Aviation Authority – Norway
Please enter the following in the comments field on the form: “I consent to an exhaustive criminal record certificate being sent directly to the Civil Aviation Authority – Norway.”

How to receive the criminal record certificate online

  1. If you already have created a secure digital email account:
    If you already have a secure digital email account, we will be automatically notified. Our reply will be sent there.
    Information about the two certified Norwegian secure email options available.

    You also need to be listed in the contact and reservation register to receive the criminal record certificate in your secure digital email account.
  2. If you have not created a secure digital email account:
    If you do not have a secure digital email account, we urge you to create a digital mailbox. (Be aware that these are the only certified secure email accounts accepted by the Norwegian authorities.)
    We will be automatically notified about your new account, and our reply will be sent there. You do not need to contact us concerning this.
    You also need to be listed in the contact and reservation register to receive the criminal record certificate in your secure digital email account.
  3. If you have reserved yourself from receiving digital mail:
    If you have reserved yourself from receiving digital mail, we will be automatically notified and our reply will be sent by the post. This will delay the reply due to the postal delivery time.

    If you after all do want to receive our reply digitally, you can do so by creating a secure digital email-account and then confirm your contact information.

Technical information regarding the application process

The online solution works best with the latest versions of Internet Explorer, Firefox, Chrome and Safari. Please note that you may experience problems uploading the file if you have a firewall installed on your computer.

Voluntary organisations

If you are taking up a position with or doing work for a voluntary organisation, you may now apply online and attach the “Confirmation of reason” document that you have been given by the organisation. The organisation can download the document on the right-hand side of this page.

A police certificate  is required both for the transport manager and for the enterprise. In these cases application for two police certificates are required. Individuals are asked to apply online while enterprises are to apply on paper form (see menu to the left "søknad pr post" for the paper form). Please attach a certificate of registration if the firm is registered in the Norwegian Register of Business Enterprises or transcript from the Central Coordinating Register for Legal Entities if the firm is not registered in the Register of Business Enterprises.

Applying for a criminal record certificate by post

If you are under 18 years of age or for other reasons unable to applyfor a criminal record certificate online, you can apply - and submit a paper application.
